Staying at Gibb’s Farm

Arrive at Kilimanjaro airport and connect to the domestic terminal to catch the flight to Manyara. Depending on your arrival time you might require a pre-night in Arusha.

Arrive at Manyara and transfer to the lodge. Located on the outer slopes of the Ngorongoro Crater lies Gibb’s Farm. Founded in the 1920s as a coffee plantation, this wonderful property is the ideal base for visiting the surrounding area, and embrace the East African hospitality, the land and heritage. The large gardens are perfect for stretching your legs after a day of game viewing, listening to the birds and enjoying a cup of freshly brewed coffee.

Arrive at Gibb's on time for lunch and experience a walk to the elephant cave in the afternoon. Leave on-foot directly from your cottage on this two-hour walking safari through the forested slopes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Discover towering waterfalls and the incredible “elephant caves”, created by elephants digging through dense rock with their tusks to ingest the vitamin-rich soil. Back at the lodge on time for the sunset, dinner and night.

After breakfast, transfer to nearby Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive. This safari paradise offers dense bush, open plains, a vast lake, and natural watering holes – all a safe haven for a rich array of wildlife.

You will get the chance to encounter large troops of baboons, many birds and maybe some of the resident lions, known to spend a lot of times in the trees. Enjoy a couple of hours game driving and return to Gibb's on time for lunch. Spend the afternoon at leisure to explore the gardens (there are several nature walks you can do), cycle to the village or enjoy the pool. Dinner and night.

Early wake up call and depart for your game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater. You will travel up though the wonderful Ngorongoro Highlands and enjoy a picnic style lunch on the crater floor.

Today is all about the animals as the vast, volcanic Ngorongoro Crater is home to the “big 5” (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino). A gradual descent into the Ngorongoro Crater through a lush highland forest, provides countless opportunities to spot magnificent birdlife among various tree species. Once on the grassy crater floor, you may encounter a wide range of grazing herbivores, as well as predators drawn to the plentiful supply of prey.

Travel back to Gibb's, take a picture at the panorama stop and relax before dinner and night.

Day 4-6

Central Serengeti

Staying at Nimali Central Serengeti

Breakfast and transfer to the airstrip for the flight to the Serengeti.

On arrival at Seronera airstrip, meet with your tour guide and transfer to camp via a meandering drive. Your 3 nights stay include all your meals and the scheduled game drives in the area. Set in the heart of the Serengeti plains, offering utter seclusion and great access to the annual migration and the ‘Big 5’. Nimali Central Serengeti is close to Makoma hill, which is best known for large herds of Buffalo, Giraffe, Elephants & predators such as Lions, Cheetahs and Hyenas.

The migrating herds are usually found in the area between April and May, to early June as they graze the fresh herbs before the move to the Northern section of the park.

Located at eye level with grazing herds of wildlife, the camp has been beautifully designed to capture the best views over the Serengeti plains, offering you a peaceful and nurturing place of solitude and respite from modern life. Sundowners can be enjoyed under the lantern lit tree with a large open fire every evening. Enjoy endless views, fire-lit meals under the vast African sky and sleep soundly with the sound of the wild as a soothing background.

End Of Itinerary

Last breakfast in the bush before the transfer to the Serengeti airstrip.

Fly to Kilimanjaro airport and time at leisure until your flight out, we can organize a day room or some activities depending on your flight times. Alternatively you can extend your stay with a few days on the beach, or a gorilla trekking.
